Conditions of carriage
The rules that apply to anything booked through Meridian.
Your contract
Meridian issues tickets as an agent for the airline, railway, coach operator or chauffeur company named on each coupon. Travel is governed by that operator's own conditions of carriage, which are incorporated here by reference and available on request.
Coupons and sequence
Coupons are valid only for the services, dates and sequence printed on them. Using a later coupon before an earlier one voids the remainder of the booking. Names cannot be transferred between people.
Changes and refunds
Flexible fares permit changes and refunds up to departure at no charge. Advance and basic fares carry the change fee printed on your receipt, and the fare portion is non-refundable. Government taxes remain refundable on any unflown or untravelled journey.
Fares and taxes
Base fares are built from distance, cabin, operator and how far ahead of departure you book. Taxes and charges are set by the country the journey departs from: US transportation tax and security fee, UK air passenger duty, German aviation tax, French civil aviation and solidarity taxes, the UAE passenger service charge, China's civil aviation development fund, and VAT where it applies to domestic carriage.
Identification
The name on every coupon must match the travel document presented at check-in. International journeys require a passport valid for the whole trip, together with any visa the destination requires.
Where your booking is held
There is no account to create. A confirmed booking is stored against its six-character record locator, and that locator is all you need to retrieve the tickets and receipt from any device. Your browser also keeps a local copy so the documents open instantly on the machine you booked from.
Card details
The card number and security code are held in the payment page for the length of the authorisation request, and are never transmitted or stored. Only the card brand, the last four digits and the billing address are kept with the booking, because they appear on your receipt.
Liability
International carriage by air is subject to the Montreal Convention 1999. Rail and coach carriage is subject to the applicable passenger rights regulations. Both limit liability for delay, injury and baggage.
